What to Expect
When you choose to let the Shelly Leeke Law Firm represent you in your personal injury claim, you can expect the following level of communication and a commitment to keeping you in the loop every step of the way.
1) Client Hires Shelly Leeke Law Firm
- Client speaks with attorney and other members of the legal team to discuss the case, injuries, medical treatment and to gather information, documents, etc. Client questions are answered. Both the attorney and the client know what to expect moving forward
- Attorney and legal team manage all communication with the insurance company and gather all necessary reports, statements, medical records, etc.
- Client focuses on medical treatment and healing from injuries
2) Initial Calls with Attorney and Staff, Information Gathering (First 7-10 days)
- The attorney or legal assistant will contact you as needed over the first two weeks as they gather information pertaining to all aspects of the case, gather documents, evidence, and answer any questions you may have
- Client speaks to the insurance company ONLY for purposes of getting their property damage resolved

3) 30 Day Call with Attorney or Legal Assistant* (Every 30 Days)
- Attorney and legal team maintain contact with client monthly regarding treatment status
*Let us know how YOU feel, better or worse
*Remember to provide all updates on medical visits and any doctors seen
*Discuss any new developments related to your case with attorney
*Assigned attorney will answer any questions you may have
4) Client Concludes or Reaches Maximum Medical Improvement
- All final medical records and bills are ordered
- Attorney reviews medical treatment and bills with client
*Notify your legal assistant or attorney immediately upon being released from medical treatment
5) Settlement Package Call
- Reconfirm all medical providers and related medical treatment
- Verify lost wages and any out of pocket expenses
- Discuss value of damages in preparation of demand package
- Discuss a time frame for response to demand package and set expectations accordingly
- Attorney and legal team draft a detailed settlement demand package, and package is presented it to insurance providers
6) Settlement Negotiations Discussion
- Attorney contacts client to talk about offer and discuss negotiations
- Attorney negotiates with claims adjustors and/or attorneys for the defense. Attorney presents offer(s) to the client and advises client as to the quality of the offers
- Attorney negotiates settlement and discusses with client final settlement
- Client agrees to accept the insurance company’s final offer or reject final offer
- Legal team contacts all providers, health insurers, PIP, etc., to verify outstanding bill amounts, and/or lien amounts to be reimbursed
- Attorney finalizes subrogation, healthcare, and other first-party liens, outstanding medical bills, etc.
7) Case Settlement
- Case is settled or moved to litigation**
- Attorney reviews settlement documents, releases, etc.
- Attorney meets with client and client signs the documents
- Final account Statement, file documents and settlement check given to client
*Every 30 days while client is receiving medical treatment
